Homemade Apple Chips 🍎

Looking for a healthy, crunchy snack to satisfy your cravings?

These homemade apple chips are the perfect blend of sweet and crispy! They're easy to make, naturally delicious, and a great alternative to store-bought chips. Plus, with just a few simple ingredients, you can whip up this guilt-free snack in no time.

Two great ways to make homemade apple chips, whether in a dehydrator or in the oven.

Ingredients:

  • Apples - I used a mixture between green Granny Smith apples 🍏 and red delicious 🍎

  • 2 tbsp Cinnamon

  • 3/4 cup Sugar

  • Dash of Pumpkin Pie Spice

Oven Directions:

  1. Preheat Oven to 200'

  2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper

  3. In a bowl mix together Cinnamon, Pumpkin Pie Spice and Sugar (you can always add more if you run out or want to make more apples)

  4. Thinly slice apples - I find it to work best with a mandolin

  5. Coat both sides of apple in the sugar mixture and individually place on parchment sheet

  6. Bake in oven for 2 hours or until the apples look like the right crunchiness when taken out for 2-3 minutes

  7. Turn off oven and allow apples to cool while still in the oven (that is off) for another hour or two.

Dehydrator Directions:

  1. Line with parchment paper (if using the cinnamon and sugar coating)

  2. In a bowl mix together Cinnamon, Pumpkin Pie Spice and Sugar (you can always add more if you run out or want to make more apples) -- when using red delicious apples, I find that they are sweet enough as it without anything added, so I typically will make these on the dehydrator without parchment paper since they make less of a mess, if you do this omit step 4

  3. Thinly slice apples - I find it to work best with a mandolin

  4. Coat both sides of apple in the sugar mixture and individually place on parchment sheet

  5. Set the dehydrator at 140' for 6-8 hours - you may need more or less time or may need to rotate the trays.
